Plasma-Based Tests for HPV-Positive Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Developing plasma-based tests for HPV-positive tumors is a promising tool for the early detection of primary cancer and of recurrence before developing clinical symptoms. High-risk HPV subtypes are an important etiologic and prognostic factor in HNSCC. The current project involves monitoring HPV-E6/E7 in circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) on patients before, during, and after treatment.
