Liraz "Lee" Shmuel-Galia Ph.D.
Dr. Galia obtained her Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel and completed her postdoctoral training at UMass Chan Medical School. Dr. Galia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology.

Shaika Shanbagh, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow
Shaika obtained her PhD degree in Diabetic Retinopathy, focusing on the role of microRNA in DR, from GROW Research Lab at Narayana Nethralaya, Bangalore, India. Shaika joined the Galia lab in March 2024 and is currently delving into the intricate world of lncRNAs, exploring their role in regulating interorganelle communication to control metabolism pathways and maintain tissue homeostasis.

Abigail Zellmer
Graduate Student
Abigail graduated from University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor's in Biological Sciences and worked in industry and as an academic research technician before starting graduate school in August 2024. She is currently a part of the Immunology Graduate Program and rotating in the Galia Lab.
