Postdoc Positions in Weibo Luo Lab
Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the laboratory to study hypoxia regulation and drug development in cancer (Cancer Res 2021; Cancer Res 2020; JCI 2018, 128(5): 1937-1955; NAR 2018, 46(13):6576-6591; Cell 2011, 145(5):732-44; PNAS 2012, 109(49): E3367-76).
The Luo Lab is particularly interested in understanding the crosstalk of oxygen homeostasis, epigenetics, and metabolism in breast cancer progression. Cutting-edge techniques including proteomics, next generation sequencing, and metabolomics are used in our studies. Our research is supported by NCI, CPRIT, and private foundations.
We are seeking highly motivated candidates with a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
Interested candidates must have:
Strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and oncology
Strong publication record
Good communication skills
Experience with bioinformatics is a plus. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Dr. Weibo Luo, Assistant Professor and CPRIT Scholar in Cancer Research, received a cancer research grant from the Mary Kay Foundation to study the role of a protein called ZMYND8 in immune response.

Dr. Luo received a CPRIT award
Dr. Weibo Luo, Assistant Professor and CPRIT Scholar in Cancer Research, received a $900,000 Individual Investigator Award from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to study the role of a protein called ZMYND8 in breast cancer metastasis. Metastasis causes >90% of death due to breast cancer in women and currently cannot be cured. Dr. Luo Lab studies the fundamental mechanisms of breast cancer metastasis and seeks new therapeutic approaches to treat this deadly disease.
