Dr. Shawn McClintock

Shawn M. McClintock, Ph.D., M.S.C.S., is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Professor, and he holds the Lydia Bryant Test Distinguished Professorship in Psychiatric Research in the Division of Psychology, Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Also, he is the Director of Research Training in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program in the UT Southwestern Medical Center Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Dr. Shawn McClintock

Dr. McClintock received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Texas (1998) and his M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology (2005) and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (2006) from UT Southwestern Medical Center. He completed postdoctoral training in clinical neuropsychology and mood disorders research as a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) T32 Postdoctoral Fellow at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and he completed postdoctoral training in brain stimulation and therapeutic modulation at Columbia University / New York State Psychiatric Institute. Subsequently, he was appointed a National Institutes of Health (NIH) KL2 Clinical Scholar and received his M.S. in Clinical Sciences (2011) from UT Southwestern Medical Center.

He is a globally recognized expert in the neurocognitive effects of major depressive disorder and antidepressant neuromodulation therapeutics. He has received grant funding from the NIH and the Brain and Behavior Foundation. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of ECT and is an Associate Editor of Neuropsychology Review. Dr. McClintock has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and 12 book chapters and co-edited the book Neuropsychology of Depression.

Dr. Hila Abush Segev

Dr. Hila Abush Segev, PhD is the Research Manager for the Interventional Psychiatry Research Program in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Hila is responsible for planning and supervising operations of the program’s research studies, monitoring study progress, supporting study team members, and assuring regulatory compliance. Prior to supporting clinical research, Hila’s background and training was in basic science.

Dr. Bryan Kromenacker

Bryan Kromenacker M.D., Ph.D. is a research-track psychiatry resident involved with the ENSURE study which examines affective and non-affective cognition in individuals with depression across the lifespan. Bryan is also developing an individual project focusing on computationally-defined behaviors in psychiatry, which uses computational modeling of learning and decision-making. He interested in using new learning tasks to better quantify individual-differences in cognition and improve our understanding of information processing impairments underlying the surface-level symptoms of mental illness which currently define and distinguish diagnoses.

Aatika Parwaiz

Aatika Parwaiz is a Clinical Research Assistant II; she is the Coordinator and contact person for the Emotional Cognition study (ENSURE) and at the same time involved in RECOVER, DBS and CREST: MST studies. Aatika is an International Medical Graduate and she earned her Master`s in Public Health Degree from UT School of Public Health along with a Health Care Administration Graduate Certificate. She is dedicated to the goal of advancement in the field of Medical Science, Mental Health and Quality of Healthcare. Aatika has worked at UTSW in Clinical Research for more than 11 years. She has experience of working and coordinating medication and interventional studies.
Aatika Parwaiz

Nadia Imran

Nadia Imran is a Clinical Research Assistant II for the Interventional Psychiatry Research Program at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW). She is the Clinical Coordinator for the DECODE study and is also involved in the CREST-MST, DBS-II, DBS Baylor and RECOVER studies. She is an international medical graduate and has an MPH degree from the UT School of Public Health. Nadia has worked in clinical research at UTSW for the past 7 years and has experience in coordinating and conducting multiple clinical trials involving dementia and depression, both drug and device based.

Cassidy Soto

Cassidy Soto, M.S. is a Clinical Research Assistant and Clinical Coordinator in multiple clinical research studies across the Interventional Psychiatry Program and Translational Neuroscience Research Group here at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Cassidy currently holds a BA in Psychology and an MS in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience. She is pursuing her goal of obtaining a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology to specialize in Clinical Neuropsychology. Her research interests are focused on understanding the therapeutic effects of neuromodulation techniques and elucidating the effects of cognition within neuropsychiatric disorders.

Jared Fox is a Research Assistant involved in the DECODE study, CREST study, and EEG components at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Jared is dedicated to the betterment of people using his education in psychology and medicine. Over the course of his tenure, Jared has aided in the progression of science and the betterment of his community.

Matthew Hutnyan

Matthew Hutnyan is a Doctoral Student in Clinical Psychology and Graduate Research Assistant involved in the CREST, DECODE, and ENSURE studies at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Matthew graduated from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Health and Society, and he has previously served as a lab manager and mental health support group facilitator. As he builds his career, Matthew aims to contribute to a greater understanding of mental health and innovative approaches to treatment.

Jack Kaufman

Jack Kaufman is a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Student and Graduate Research Assistant primarily involved in the DECODE study at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. For the past three years Jack has split his time between clinical work – in neuropsychological assessment – and research – in psychiatric neuroimaging – but is looking forward to shifting towards the interventional side of things (ECT, MST, DBS, etc.). Jack is at the very beginning of his “tunnel”, but is looking forward to a career of contribution.
