Phosphoinositide regulation of Golgi functions

The Golgi apparatus is the central sorting station for membrane trafficking. Phosphoinositides such as PIP2 and PI4P may be modulators of multiple Golgi functions.

We have found that PI4P is essential for the recruitment of adaptor coat proteins to the Golgi and propose that PI4P helps establish the Golgi's unique organelle identity.
