Ying Lab recently collaborated with scientists at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Chicago and Northwestern University on a commentary published in Nature Reviews Materials proposing that “cell state” should be treated as a key design variable in nanomedicine, rather than viewing cells as passive delivery targets.

Received a Grant

Ying Lab received its first research grant from the American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant through the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. The pilot project supports early-stage research aimed at preventing esophageal cancer and its precancerous conditions. Congrats to the team!

Co-authored a Research Paper

Ying Lab co-authored an MIT Langer Lab–led study in Cell Biomaterials that developed a tough, sutureless hydrogel bioadhesive patch with programmable multiphase drug release, demonstrating ~50% reduction in infarct size and significant cardiac functional improvement in preclinical myocardial infarction models.
