Opportunities

The Bailey Lab started in July of 2018 and we are eager to build a fun, inquisitive, and collaborative research group interested in developing AAV-based therapeutics for neurological disorders. We are currently accepting applications for technicians, graduate students, and postdoctoral positions. We welcome those with diverse backgrounds.

Researchers with expertise in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, virology, and animal studies are encouraged to apply.

Postdoctoral Position

We seek a postdoctoral fellow to lead research in gene therapy projects with the eventual goal of translating research to a Phase I clinical trial. The laboratory has several exciting projects related to developing gene therapies for neurological disorders.

Postdoctoral candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have:

  • A strong background in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, or a related discipline
  • A record of publication and grant writing
  • Scientific curiosity and the desire and ability to work independently
  • Experience with disease models and genomic approaches (i.e. RNA-seq) is a plus.

Information on our postdoctoral training program and benefits can be found on UTSW's postdoctoral program webpage and in the downloadable Postdoc Handbook.

To apply, please send Dr. Bailey your CV and a brief description of your scientific interests and research goals.
