Glynnis Garry Bann, M.D.

Glynnis Garry Bann, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology and Department of Molecular Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Center for Regenerative Science and Medicine. She obtained her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame followed by her M.D. at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She then matriculated into the Physician-Scientist Training Program at UT Southwestern through which she completed Internal Medicine Residency, Cardiology Fellowship, and postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Eric Olson, Ph.D. before joining the faculty in 2024. She enjoys studying transcription factor and chromatin biology, and mentoring students and postdocs in the lab.

Patricia Semedo-Kuriki
Research Scientist
Patricia received her M.Sc. in Molecular Biology from UNIFESP, Brazil (2006), and subsequently completed her Ph.D. (2009) and Postdoctoral training (2012) in Nephrology under the supervision of Dr. Niels Câmara at UNIFESP. Her doctoral and postdoctoral work focused on animal models, including surgical procedures and primary cell isolation. Before joining UTSW, Patricia worked for more than 10 years at Genoma/USP, Brazil as a laboratory specialist, where she co-mentored students and supported research in cell culture, viral transduction, flow cytometry, and a wide range of molecular biology techniques.
Passionate about discovery and innovation, her research interests center on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease and regenerative medicine. She is deeply committed to fostering a collaborative research environment, supporting fellow researchers, and advancing translational discoveries to drive impactful scientific progress.
Mya Moore
PhD Candidate, GDD
Mya completed her Bachelor's at Angelo State University where she received a degree in biology and minor in chemistry. She began her research journey as a postbacc student in the PB2PHD program at UTSW working on designing CRISPR KO screens in Dr. Ralph DeBerardinis' lab. When she’s not at the bench, she enjoys watching the rodeo!
Addison Abbott
Undergraduate Student
Addison is an undergraduate student at Dallas Baptist University and will graduate in 2026 with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. During her undergraduate years, she gained her first lab experience studying the mechanism of bacteriophages. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine, with an interest in physical medicine and rehabilitation. In her free time, she enjoys distance running!
Patrick Moore
MD Candidate/Sarnoff Fellow
Patrick earned his Bachelor's in Microbiology at the University of Alabama in 2024. There, he had his first research experience in Dr. R. Nathan Correll's lab studying how unfolded protein response signaling regulates cardiac remodeling following injury. He hopes to one day pursue a career as a physician-scientist in cardiology, and was awarded a Sarnoff Fellowship to continue his research training. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and building Lego sets!
