The new Data Science Shared Resource (DSSR) team consists of Bioinformatics and Data Science experts with diverse educational backgrounds and project experience. The team is housed within the Lyda Hill Department of Bioinformatics and empowered by full access to BioHPC resources. The DSSR's goal is to provide comprehensive and high-quality data science services to Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) members.
The DSSR's service modes include:
- Help Desk: a ticket-based service system
- Data Science On-Demand: an hourly service for consults and solutions to short-term projects
- Data Science Collaboration: a long term service for projects needing weeks or months of DSSR support
- Data Science Fellowship: avenue for SCCC members to receive formal training to advance their data analytical skills
