The goal of our research lab is to identify the early steps in the pathogenesis of AMD, and to investigate the novel methods to treat and even to prevent its development. Our lab approaches AMD from two vantage points: basic scientific research to assess the role of lipid oxidation in the development of AMD, and clinical study to develop a more sensitive test for screening and monitoring the development of AMD.
