Post COVID-19 Neuro-Cognitive Manifestations and Underlying Mechanisms in Older African Americans (CCARE)

Keywords: COVID-19, African Americans, Dementia, Cognitive

This observational study explores the neurological and cognitive impact of COVID-19 infections in the African American population age 50+. The study will explore the relationship between medical conditions known to be risk factors (diabetes, high blood pressure) for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related dementias after COVID-19 infections. Researchers hope to gain a better understanding of how COVID-19 affects cognition or the brain’s function and what risk factors are associated with lasting cognitive impairment following COVID-19 infection.
