The improvement of patient care inspires and directs our efforts as a group. We are presently applying the following approaches to understand how our fundamental bench studies translate to the care of cachexia patients:
- Identifying clinical pathologic associations that predict for the development of cachexia
- Identification of serum signature to predict cachexia development in cancer patients
- Validating pre-clinical models using fat biopsy specimens from cancer patients.
