Silvia Vargas joined the lab.

Dr. Mitra Presents at Symposium

Dr. Mitra presented at the Lafora Disease Science Symposium in San Diego, California. She described studies to use glycogen synthase 1 as a target to treat neuronal glycogen storage diseases with a special emphasis on Lafora disease, Adult polyglucosan body disease, and PGBM1.

James Osborn was the first lab member to join the Mitra lab at UT Southwestern.

The Mitra lab received its first grant, an R01 to identify the mechanism for amylopectinosis (insoluble glycogen formation) in Polyglucosan body myopathy 1 (PGBM1) disease.
