Post Doc
I am clinical scientist, and a researcher passionate about human genetics and its implication in human diseases. I have acquired Medical degree from Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. My doctoral thesis conducted at Ulm University in Germany, with German government scholarship for doctoral studies (DAAD – German academic exchange program). With this work I have identified a population specific haplotype susceptible for a neurodegenerative disease, namely Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in an isolated population. I have completed a clinical fellowship at University of California San Francisco (UCSF), followed with postdoctoral position as bioinformatics fellow at Gladstone Institutes of Data Science and Biotechnology, UCSF. My work focuses on delineating genetic architectures of complex traits (type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dementia) with a focus on inclusion of diverse populations. I aim to broaden and globalize equity in genetic research by conducting global research in the field of genetics of metabolic dysfunction and their effects on broad range of complex diseases. I am an Atlantic fellow for Global brain health equity.
