Postdoctoral Positions

Postdoctoral Positions in Circadian Biology – NIH and NSF Funded

Two postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the lab of Dr. Shin Yamazaki in the Department of Neuroscience at UT Southwestern to map novel circadian pacemakers located outside of the suprachiasmatic nucleus and to identify the physiological significance of these pacemakers. Knowledge of circadian rhythms is not required, but the postdocs will work with live mice and performing surgeries. Please contact the PI (Email) to discuss detailed strategies for investigating the research goals.

UT Southwestern Medical Center is a leading academic medical center with outstanding core facilities and has an active chronobiology research group consisting of Drs. Joseph Takahashi, Carla Green, Yi Liu, Robert W Greene, Steve McKnight, Ben Tu, Beverly Rothermel, Laura Hooper, and Shin Yamazaki. These PIs and their lab members interact regularly via events such as the bi-weekly circadian journal club and a weekly joint lab meeting. The Cellular and Systems Biology of Sleep and Circadian Rhythms Training Program, which is co-directed by Dr. Takahashi and Dr. Greene, provides an outstanding training environment for both pre- and post-doctoral trainees. In addition to this circadian group, UT Southwestern has an open and collaborative atmosphere with many outstanding world-class scientists in diverse fields.
