Multiple Postdoctoral Positions

in Stem cells / Bioprinting / Tissue Engineering / Biomaterials / In-vivo testing / Microfluidics / Cellular manufacturing…

Funded by a multi-million-dollar award, The Rizwan Lab (RIZWANLAB.COM) at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, is embarking on a mission to develop patient-derived transplantable human organs and is seeking exceptional scientists to join our mission. We have up to 6 postdoctoral positions available across the following research areas:

1. Cellular Manufacturing

Required: Experience in large-scale culture of mammalian primary cells, cell lines, or stem cells using bioreactors or other advanced techniques.

2. Microfluidics & Organ-on-a-Chip Systems

Required: Expertise in the fabrication/application of microfluidic systems and organ-on-a-chip platforms for modeling tissue function.

3. Polymer Chemistry & Organic Synthesis

Required: Strong background in polymer chemistry and/or organic synthesis of biomaterials, with proficiency in characterization techniques such as NMR, HPLC, and mass spectrometry. Basic hands-on experience in cell culture and common viability/growth assays is essential.

4. Stem Cells & Organoids

Required: Expertise in stem cell culture and differentiation for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. Proficiency in flow cytometry and cell sorting is highly preferred.

5. In Vivo Biomaterial Testing

Required: Experience conducting in vivo experiments in small or large animal models, with expertise in evaluating biomaterial performance, transplanted cell survival, animal imaging, and survival surgeries.

6. Liver Regeneration & Tissue Engineering

Required: Expertise in liver regeneration, liver development, and liver stem cells, with applications in tissue engineering and liver repair.

7. 3D Bioprinting & Biofabrication

Required: Experience in bioprinting of primary cells or cell-free structures, along with expertise in bioink development and functional analysis of bioprinted constructs.

8. Immune Engineering & Modulation

Required: Expertise in immune modulation focusing on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, with a focus on foreign body response, biomaterial-immune interactions, and immune cell engineering for improved graft survival.

For all positions, a strong record of productivity (e.g. first-author, high-impact original research articles) in the relevant research areas is highly preferred.

Interested candidates should send thier CV to Dr. Muhammad Rizwan at MUHAMMAD.RIZWAN@UTSouthwestern.edu. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further steps such as a phone call followed by virtual research seminar.

Please clearly state in the email subject line your research expertise matching with those 8 research domains listed above.
