Dr. Ralph Mason elected a Senior Fellow of ISMRM

In a significant recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to cancer research, Dr. Ralph Mason, Professor of Radiology and member of the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, has been elected as a Senior Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM).

With over 30 years of dedication at UT Southwestern, Dr. Mason's pioneering work in magnetic resonance (MR) methods has focused on assessing tissue oxygenation in cancer. The honor, formally announced at the ISMRM’s June meeting in Toronto, underscores the global impact of his research.

Supported by entities such as NIH and Susan G. Komen, Dr. Mason's research has demonstrated the feasibility of noninvasive methods in human volunteer patients with various cancers. This recognition adds to a distinguished lineage of UTSW faculty honored as ISMRM Fellows.
