The Saha Lab is designing a novel drug-delivery system that will release potent radiosensitizer and/or chemotherapeutic agents to lung and prostate tumors to enhance the efficacy of combined modality therapy. This project is an ongoing collaboration with Dr. Kytai Nguyen at UT Arlington.
For lung tumor treatment, we are testing aerosol delivery of new multifunctional nanoparticles.
For prostate tumors, drug-containing nanoparticles are conjugated with the prostate-specific peptide R11, which specifically targets prostate cancer cells.
