The Sorrell Lab is interested in understanding how cellular stress (such as hypoxia and nutrient deprivation) can reprogram signaling pathways that co-regulate cell survival and migration.
We integrate molecular and cellular biology approaches with mouse models to study basic mechanisms underlying normal development and cancer progression. One of our major goals is to define the molecular mediators of pre-metastatic behavior.
