We teach anyone that is willing to learn.
We show commitment to a topic or student, use an interactive teaching style and apply team-based learning strategies during classes.Dr. Verbaarschot has taught various undergraduate and graduate courses on Brain-Computer Interfacing, Cognitive Neuroscience and Philosophy of Mind. In addition to teaching activities inside of the University, she has co-organized various community outreach projects in which kids and adults learn the basics of programming (Python), Biomedical Engineering, or Neuroscience.

- Introduction to Brain-Computer Interfacing: 3rd year Bachelor course in Artificial Intelligence at the Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Taught across 2014-2016.
- Advanced Brain-Computer Interfacing: 1st year Master course in Artificial Intelligence at the Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Taught across 2014-2019.
- Co-organizer of the Donders Foundations lecture series between 2015-2017 at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
- Organized a graduate reading group on the topics of "Agency" and "Sense of self" across 2015-2017.
Community Outreach
- Hands-on Neuroscience session at the Camp-Biomedical Engineering summer course for kids at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Taught in 2023.
- Eight-ten week Python course for adult beginners at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Taught between 2022 and 2024.
- Hands-on eight week workshop series on neuroscience and biomedical engineering for kids in cooperation with RUACH Youth Bicycle Club and the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Taught in 2024.
