Facilities

Our laboratory was established in 2012 in the Department of Biochemistry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The Biochemistry Department features exceptional depth of expertise in both biology and chemistry. We also rely heavily upon resources available through the Departments of Biophysics and Radiation Oncology.

Cancer Biology

We have access to numerous annotated cancer cell lines. Our primary department, Radiation Oncology, also houses many resources for radiobiology and cell biology experimentation.

Structural Biology

State-of-the-art facilities for macromolecular X-ray crystallography are available through the UT Southwestern Structural Biology Core Facility. Within the lab, we use semi-automated fermentation and protein-purification equipment. X-ray data collection is carried out at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory.

Chemical Biology

Our lab houses several instruments capable of high-throughput work in dense-plate formats. For large screens or assays requiring even more throughput, we work with the UT Southwestern High Throughput Screening Facility, located near our lab.

Drug Design

We maintain licenses for numerous molecular modeling packages for in silico compound profiling and docking. In addition to our own computational resources, our collaborators have years of experience and are an invaluable resource.
