Zane discovered the mechanism by which the testis factor ZNF165, which gets re-activated in triple negative breast cancer cells, regulates an oncogenic SMAD3 TGFbeta signaling network. In addition to a cash prize, his name will be engraved on the Alfred and Mabel Gilman Memorial Awards plaque located at the Pharmacology office.
