Meet the Principal Investigator

Angelique Whitehurst

Angelique Whitehurst, Ph.D.

Angelique Whitehurst received her B.A. and B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 1997. She earned her Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology in the lab of Melanie Cobb at UT Southwestern. In her postdoctoral work with Michael White, Ph.D., she developed high-throughput RNAi screens to identify chemosensitizer loci in mammalian cells.

Dr. Whitehurst began her independent career in 2009 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in the Department of Pharmacology and The Lineberger Cancer Center.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2013 in the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center with a secondary appointment in the Department of Pharmacology.
