During the past five years, we have published four papers dealing with the development of novel reactions leading to heretofore difficult to access functionality relevant to total synthesis and medicinal chemistry programs. We developed gold and platinum catalyzed reactions that enable the synthesis of novel oxazole-based dipeptide mimetics, spiroketals, morpholines, dioxanes, and other heterocycles.
