Parkland/Texas Health Resources Cardiopulmonary Screening Study

The goal of this study is to provide age-appropriate screening for heart, lung, and sleep disorders for adolescents and adults born preterm.

  • Inclusion Criteria for Adolescents and Adults Born Preterm:
    • Children and adults aged 12-40 born ≤32 weeks
    • Ability to provide informed consent (parent/guardian consent required for minors)
  • We are also looking for healthy adolescents and adults born at term (full 9 months, or >37 weeks). Please contact us if you are interested in learning more.

Exercise Limitations in Adults Born Preterm

The goal of this study is to determine why adults born preterm may feel short of breath or have difficulty exercising. Preterm and term adults will undergo exercise testing and heart MRI.

  • Inclusion Criteria:
    • Prior participation in the Parkland/Texas Health Resources Cardiopulmonary Screening Study
    • Adults Born Preterm feel short of breath or limited with activities such as exercise
