Singal & Rich Research Group

Description

The Singal & Rich research group focuses on generating critical insights to improve the entire spectrum of liver cancer care. Our studies involve assessing and promoting novel practices, imaging, and blood-based biomarkers to improve risk stratification, screening, early detection and outcomes for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and other primary liver cancers.

Chen (Stone) Lab

Description

Our current research is focused on biochemical and structural studies of how membrane molecules signal to the actin cytoskeleton through a large, five-protein complex named the WAVE Regulatory Complex (WRC).

Patel (Suraj) Lab

Description

Our laboratory has a particular interest in hepatic metabolism and its regulation by the immune system. We utilize genetic, epigenetic and proteomic approaches, combined with detailed physiological studies, to understand the complex mechanisms that causally link inflammation to metabolic dysfunction in obesity and fatty liver disease.

Cotter Research Group

Description

The Cotter Research Group is a clinical lab focused on strategies to improve outcomes for patients with liver diseases with a particular focus on alcohol and metabolic dysfunction-associated liver diseases.

Kong Lab

Description

Kong lab aims to harness the cutting-edge technologies in human genetics and genomics, immunology, and molecular biology to better understand the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal inflammation.

Najafov Lab

Description

The mission of the Najafov Lab is to understand the role of cell death in physiology and disease. Our research is focused on necroptosis and how it can be targeted to develop novel strategies for treating cancer.

Maddipati Lab

Description

Using novel multi-omics approaches and model systems to treat pancreatic cancer

Hoshida Lab

Description

We are multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists, focusing on liver cancer risk-predictive molecular biomarkers specific to clinical contexts (ex. geographic region, liver disease etiology, and patient race/ethnicity) individual risk-stratified personalized cancer screening.

Ni Lab

Description

We study bacterial colonization of the intestinal tract, to understand how both benign and pathological bacteria affect their environment. Our long-term goal is to treat intestinal diseases by genetically engineering bacteria in vivo.

Reinecker Lab

Description

The Reinecker laboratory unravels and targets molecular mechanisms of key human genetic variants that cause chronic inflammatory diseases and cancer by creating novel genetic mouse and human organotypic model systems.
