Cheng-Ming Chiang, Ph.D.
Cheng-Ming Chiang received his Ph.D. in 1991 from the University of Rochester in upstate New York under the supervision of Professors Louise Chow and Thomas Broker and continued postdoctoral training in 1992 with Professor Robert Roeder at Rockefeller University. In 1995, he took a faculty position in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In 2000, he moved to the Department of Biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio as a tenured Associate Professor. In 2007, he was recruited as Professor at UT Southwestern with a primary appointment in Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center and secondary appointments in the Department of Pharmacology and Department of Biochemistry.
Professor Chiang is a 1996 Pew Scholar and has been on the editorial boards of the Journal of Biological Chemistry since July 2003 and Faculty of 1000 (now Faculty Opinions) since January 2004. He was an External Advisory Committee member for the Center for Molecular and Tumor Virology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center from 2014 to 2019 and a regular member of the American Cancer Society, National Institutes of Health, and International Human Frontier Science Program study sections. Dr. Chiang has also been an ad hoc grant reviewer for many domestic and international funding agencies and a manuscript reviewer for various scientific journals. Dr. Chiang is presently a member of the National Advisory Committee for the Pew Scholars in the Biomedical Sciences sponsored by the Pew Charitable Trusts.
